The Non-Believers

As some people may know, not many people believe zombies are real. I have been dead for about 14 or 15 months now, so I blend in pretty well with the general public. I recently moved to a new town, well I lived here when I was little, then moved just before I turned 11. I died when I was 13 and a half, exactly. It was on May 27. Right now I am 14, but I will forever stay 13 and a half. In the past few weeks, I have been called a zombie, but only by my friends whom I have told, no one else really knows I'm a zombie. At least if they know, they don't pick on me for it. The few people I have told said that they wish they could be zombies, and they said it was wicked cool. I told them that there are some good points in being DB, but there are more set backs. I actually look like a DB person in gym because I can't run or react as fast as I used to.
I was reading another blog and listening to speeches presented by some of my own classmates on how zombies can't be good for our communities and other stuff that isn't true. All of my teachers know that I am a zombie, and when the speeches became violent, they took me to a different area of the room. Here is how the speech went, at least one part of the speech. I warn you this isn't for the faint of heart...
"These... things... these worm burgers are destroying our community! Ever since this phenomenon began months ago, the crime rate has risen! How much do you want to bet its because of these zombies? Some zombies in our town have taken jobs from those who really need them. Zombies like: Kennedi Farmount, Hannah Belane, Samantha Costa, Zoey William, Ellie Hope. Ellie even is attending our own school! Some children can't come to school because their parents can't pay for them, but this corpsicle is able to attend? WHY!?!?! Please help me understand.."
"Okay Miss Emerson, go sit down. Everyone, please note that some things this speaker has said are true, but others are not. I beg of you all to accept any Differently Biotic Persons that we take into this school. Everyone close your eyes, better yet, put your heads down. If I see anyone pull their head up, its detention! Okay how many of you wouldn't mind if we had DB persons in our school? How many would? Okay more than half of you wouldn't mind. If someone who wouldn't mind, and who wouldn't care if someone DB came, would you tell us why?"
I'm not going to continue with this event because many things said are not... comforting. I haven't been with the general population in my school very much since then, and when I am, one of my teachers always is there with me. So much for keeping a secret. I am scared to be out in public by myself since then. I know it is strange to be scared of some of your previous friends, but it isn't.
I do have one piece of good news.A new zombie has come to town! He's newer than most of the people I have seen, but right now he is staying with me. His name is Joseph. I call him Joe, he prefer me not to tell his story just yet, but maybe soon. I can tell you this story is VERY scary. I am enrolling him in my school. So he will be staying with me for sometime. I also made another new friend this week, his name I can't tell you. Keeping it private, like with anyone other than some special people like Joseph. I also went to see my baby today. Okay she isn't mine, but she is my favorite little kid ever. Her name is Izabella. When I was alive I babysat her. She is only 4 months old! Soon she'll be coming to live with me because of issues. I can't say the issues, but I can say that it was and is her parents choice to have her live with me. Her parents want her to know how to accept others different from herself, and apparently I am a good influence. Her parents will still see her a lot, but I will be like her parent! I can't wait!

Ellie's Story

Welcome to all. My name is Eleanor (Ellie) Hope. The last name is kind of ironic. I have a story to tell anyone who wants to hear it. I am a zombie. Some other terms used to describe what I am are: Differently Biotic (DB), Undead, Living Dead, and my favorite Living Impaired. I live in a small town where many people are disgusted by my presence. Before me, there were no DB people in our community. My family accepted me back to the family, but only conditionally. I don't eat with them, I can't have friends over, and a lot more. I don't mind the conditions I have, they are easy to get around. I have friends at my school, but they are few and far apart. Most people won't stand or sit next to me, they won't talk to me, they basically try to isolate me. My friends stay with me and help me, or at least try to. Haha. I am in the 7th grade at my local school. I get help with my speech, because it is very slow. I am in most of the advanced classes.
My death isn't something I like to discuss because I don't know everything that happened. I can tell you that when I died, I was a supporter of DB rights. I wrote essays, I made speeches, so I think it was fate that I ended up a zombie myself. I guess I still had work to do on the rights for others like myself. I died a few months ago, and have been progressing rapidly, more rapidly than some of the others I have met.
I wish that I could meet Tommy Williams, he is my inspiration for this blog, and in working for the rights of Differently Biotic Persons. The name of his blog is My So-Called Undeath. I hope you all can check it out because it'll help you understand some topics I will talk about.
Talk to you all soon! ~Ellie~
